Firstly, congratulations!! If you are here, you are probably in the process of organising your wedding and that’s a wonderful thing. Well done on nailing that proposal – or accepting it! However it came about, you now have an amazing day to plan for!
I’m Ashley, and I’m a Wedding Photographer based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. I love capturing wedding days through relaxed, natural photography and strive to leave my couples not just with photos, but the best moments of their lives frozen in time.
For me, weddings are about three things:
Love is, of course, the headline. That inescapable truth that you cannot bear to spend the rest of your life apart from one another, as though you are connected by some invisible rope tethered to your souls which has led you both inexorably to this day, this commitment, this moment… Or just that, you know, ‘this one’ll do’. Which is sort of the same thing.
You have assembled all your closest family and friends in one place and plied them with food, drink and entertainment for the day – hilarity is bound to ensue! And then there are the speeches: what childhood memories will be dredged up? Will your Best Man or Maid of Honour regale your guests with that incident from Majorca 10 years ago? I will be poised and ready to capture all of those laughing faces.
As sincere and momentous as wedding days are, they can – and should – be a lot of fun for you both as well. The time will absolutely fly by so make sure you enjoy every second of it! I like to get to know you a bit and find out about your interests – are you fitness freaks? Film fanatics? Frisbee flingers? Whatever your ‘thing’ is, I love trying to put it into your photos (even if it doesn’t begin with ‘f’).
